Mile 1667 – Lost Pond Shelter To Mile 1682 – Minerva Hinchey Shelter
As our pace has increased, we’ve had a little more time to pause along the way and enjoy the trail a bit more. Today, there were plenty of opportunities to do just that.

Pausing for a snack
Rocket can’t resist going for a quick swim whenever there is an opportunity. Today we passed a nice little pond with a rocky beach that was perfect. A few other hikers showed up with a dog that loved being in the water as well. Rocket loved that.

Can’t resist a swim on a hot day
This area is home to many marble quarries and there is a lot of rocky terrain. There were a few points on the trail today where previous hikers have used the abundance of stones to create pretty amazing little sculptures.
