Day 29. Farmland

Mile 1722 – Winturri Shelter To Mile 1734 – Thistle Hill Shelter

We knew there was a farm market less than a mile off the trail this morning, so we started hiking in time to arrive there right when it opened. We picked out a blueberry and sour cherry pie and some ice cream for our morning snack. Delicious.

After leaving the farm we found some trail magic a few miles later and we had to stop. It was a good thing we did not have a long day planned. The person doing this was in the area to hike a section of the trail and picked up a bunch of fresh fruit to share. Rocket was so excited to get fruit! An apple, pineapple, watermelon, banana, and juice made a full lunch.

Most of the rest of the day was spent hiking through farmland and open fields. Such a nice change from green tunnel we are used to.
