Day 52. Enjoying Maine Trails

Mile 1953 – Bemis Mountain Shelter To Mile 1966 – Little Swift River

The trails so far in Maine have been much more like Massachusetts than New Hampshire. Less steep and rocky than what we have become used to the last couple of weeks. Because of this, we are able to move a little faster, which is helpful as the days are getting shorter. Today we reached our planned camping area with enough daylight left to take a canoe out on the little pond nearby. Even with that, we didn’t have to eat dinner in the dark for the first time in a while.
