Mile 1981 – Poplar Ridge To Mile 1995 Crocker

Today was mainly about making progress toward the Carabassett Valley where we are planning to meet friends in a few days. With clouds all around and no exciting peaks on the schedule for today, we had an opportunity to just focus on hiking and enjoy the journey.

We spent some time today strategizing about the 100 mile wilderness which is coming up pretty soon. How long will it take to complete it? How much food will we need to carry? Do we have the right gear for the changing conditions? Rocket is starting to be more involved in the logistics aspect of the hike and enjoys the challenge of planning around significant uncertainty in our schedule, the weather, trail conditions, etc.
