Day 66. Reflection

Mile 2128 – Stealth To Mile 2147 – Namacanta

We were fortunate to complete the last big descent in this section yesterday in good weather. The rain started overnight and continued all day. However, the rain was light and the trail not too slippery so it did not slow us down.

In addition to being in a very remote area, we are also between the two groups of hikers we have been around for the last few weeks which increases the feeling of isolation. Several are a day ahead and most people that we know are a day behind us. The relative calm is giving us lots of time to reflect on our journey and the environment around us. This is prompting discussions about the new experiences we have had along the way and what we look forward to up ahead.
