Mile 1069 – Boiling Springs To Mile 1083 – Stealth
After a night of rain we awoke to a sunny but cold morning. After packing up we retraced our steps back into town for breakfast at the cafe, then, after filling up on pancakes and waffles we stopped by the ATC regional office on the way back to the trail.
Last night we walked this in the dark and rain with lights that let us see only about ten feet. Now, seeing the same area in daylight, we were amazed at how different it seemed. The dark, wet void from last night was actually a lovely park, with a duck pond and pavilion. The deserted trail was now filled with folks walking their dogs and kids fishing in the pond.
