Day 127. A Brief Warmup

Mile 1631 – Knot Maul Branch Shelter To Mile 1650 – Chatfield Shelter

There was a brief break from the early winter weather we’ve been experiencing and we really enjoyed the warm sunshine. The trail took us past a restaurant where we stopped in for lunch and a truck stop where we resupplied for the next two days.

The next burst of cold weather should be here just about the time we are walking through the highlands. There could be a lot of snow and wind at the higher elevations and the temperatures overnight could be too cold for us to camp. We’ve been hiking the last couple of days with Ox and Torch and plan to all stick together through the highlands. It will be nice to have some company!
