Mile 737 – Patagonia To Mile 755 – Stealth
We had enough dinners, more than enough, to get to the end from here, but our crazy calorie consumption made us run out of snacks. So we decided to stop in Patagonia, a town 50 miles from the end. Mary, a local, has a hostel arrangement for hikers, bikers, and rv’ers. Camping, shower, laundry, hiker box, and a selection of loaner bikes for riding into town.

For lunch we stopped at Velvet Elvis, a pizza place with elaborate decorations and a ten foot portrait of the man himself. We ate the whole pizza. Dinner, back at the hostel, was dehydrated mashed potatoes with a side of stories from an escaped Iranian activist who was also staying there for the night.

We resupplied at a sad general store with minimal options. They did, however, have a wide selection of potato chips and Mexican candy. Tamarind and chili mango everything.
