Mile 65.7cw – 82.3cw + 260.7 – 261.9
After a restful night off trail we started out in the morning with an energetic climb back up the steep Jeep road to rejoin the CT. We looked forward to another amazing pass and less-than-amazing off-season ski area

Around mid-afternoon we reached the Monarch Crest gift shop which has two important things. 1. Burritos, and 2. bottle filling stations. We were relying on the water since we are in a pretty long dry stretch of trail. However, it was the promise of burritos that kept us on schedule today to arrive before closing time at 4 pm. After our late start from the hostel and long dinner break, we still had about seven miles remaining to get over one more pass and back down to a place we could camp.
Finally, after winding our way along access roads and cross country ski trails, we met back up with the main CT path which we left several days ago for the West alternate.
