Austin to Richmond to New York City
After selling our house much faster than expected, we found ourselves without a place to stay for the five weeks before our start date. Brian and Rocket stayed with family while Brenda traveled on to Montreal to get started with her new job.
Rocket misses her Austin friends, but was thrilled to have so much quality time with Grandma.

Our plan was to start the New England section at the New York / Connecticut border. That area has a train stop right on the trail for one of the New York commuter rail lines. That meant the first stop on our journey would be Grand Central Terminal.
Brenda was able to join us in the city for the weekend beforehand!

After an amazing weekend we packed away our town clothes and double checked our backpacks. Really excited to be finally starting!
