Day 4. Something New

Mile 1475.4 – Stewart Hollow Brook Shelter to Mile 1485.4 – Pine Swamp Brook Shelter

With all of our warm-up hikes, there was one major thing that Rocket didn’t experience: rain. Today, she got the chance. She loved it! I’m not sure how we are going to get everything dried out since there is rain in the forecast for the next few days. But for now we’re enjoying it.

Walking above the clouds

At lunch Rocket put her fort building skills to use to make a rain shelter.

Hiking through cool rock formations

The climbs felt a little easier today and, after we finished our evening chores, Rocket still had enough energy left to run around the area where we were camping for an hour. We decided that meant it is time to increase our daily mileage.
