Day 9. Short

Mile 1528.1 – Tom Leonard Shelter to Mile 1535.2 – North Mt Wilcox Shelter

Significant bear activity has been reported in the area we were planning to camp today so we decided to end early for a 7 mile day. What a nice break! We had plenty of time in camp to get caught up on homeschool activities and just rest.

We were also able to hike a little slower and enjoy the trail. We passed a huge beaver bog and Rocket was very curious about how such small animals could accomplish that.

The down side of this is another big day tomorrow to hike past the bear situation and on to our next destination.
