Day 21. Zero

Mile 1652 – Manchester

With our cotton clothes and a comfortable hotel, we planned a low-key day together.

Enjoying a day off

We got caught up on everything that has happened in the last few weeks and just enjoyed “normal” life.

I had been having a problem with one of my eyes for the last couple of days so I made the decision while in town to see a doctor. There are not many medical services here, so I was really fortunate to be referred to an opthalmologist in a nearby town who opened up his office on a Saturday to see me. He was also an avid hiker and we enjoyed talking about the trail for a half hour after he was finished with the exam.

Fortunately, it is not too serious, but I will need to be on a prescription for the next month. I’m so relieved to know that is taken care of.
