Day 23. Bromley

Mile 1654 – Bromley Shelter To Mile 1667 – Lost Pond Shelter

Today’s hiking was so amazing we almost forgot about the last three weeks of rain! We had three peaks on tap for today and each had great views.

Walking up Bromley

Our hotel in town was at the base of a skiing area. The first peak today for us was the top of those same slopes. We could see in all directions from the top and lingered up there for quite a while among the motionless ski lifts.

There were a lot of ups and downs the rest of the day but we were never far from a view of the surrounding mountains.

Our favorite today was the climb up Baker Peak. The exposed rock surface was a fun challenge and the late afternoon sun was magical.

We were both a little sluggish after almost two days off, but the trail was energizing today. We’re sore and tired, but we have a great campsite by a rushing stream, so we should sleep well tonight.

  1. Thanks for being willing to be a little sluggish so that we could hang out on the weekend and I could hear stories while you consumed ridiculous amounts of food.
