Day 33. Mt. Cube

Mile 1777 – Hexa Cuba Shelter To Mile 1793 – Jeffers Brook Shelter

The change in terrain that we’ve been expecting is now becoming more apparent. The rocks are getting bigger and the climbs are getting longer and steeper. I try to imagine the trail from Rocket’s perspective as rocks that an adult might be able to step over in one motion require considerable scrambling for someone her size when they are as tall as she is.

Challenging trail

The rocks were also wet today because of rain overnight. This added to the difficulty but made for a fun and challenging climb.

Slippery when wet
