Day 112. Frozen

Mile 1258 – Stealth To Mile 1276 – Stealth

Last night was the coldest on trail so far with temperatures in the low teens. We were warm in our tent overnight, but getting moving in the morning was a challenge. Getting our feet into shoes that were frozen solid was especially problematic.

Again today there were sections of the trail with high concentrations of downed trees. However, there were enough clear sections that we could make more progress than yesterday, which was encouraging.

Bright sunny day

The ice coating combined with the bright sunshine gives a magical feel to the woods. We stopped numerous times today just marveling at the beauty.

Everything is coated in ice
