Mile 1721 – Damascus To Mile 1742 – TN 91
Today we hiked on south of Damascus but returned to town for the night to avoid the cold overnight temperatures. It has been quite a while since we crossed the last state line so it was super exciting to enter Tennessee today.

Perhaps even more exciting than entering Tennessee, however, was the parade! Tonight was the town’s holiday parade complete with fire engines, a high school marching band, girl scouts singing Christmas carols and, of course, Santa. Rocket was thrilled and we all enjoyed watching her have such a good time.

I heard she ended up with almost as much candy from the parade as if she had gone trick-or-treating. Missed Halloween…but 2018 candy quota at 2017 levels.
