Mile 425 – Stealth To Mile 445 – Roosevelt Lake Marina
The trail passes by Roosevelt Lake, where we have a resupply box waiting for us at the marina. More importantly, the marina has a restaurant. We got up early to make sure we could arrive there by dinnertime. As we hiked, we watched the sun rise over the lake in the distance.
Most of the day was spent hiking down, out of the Four Peaks wilderness. As we descended, the environment became more desert-like. We even saw our first saguaros of the hike.
The trail uses the highway bridge, so we had a bit of a road walk before reaching the marina. After picking up our box, we had dinner at the restaurant. Two dinners, actually. After finishing our meal, we asked the server to bring some menus and started the process again. Rocket’s appetite is crazy. We probably need to increase the number of calories in our trail meals.
