Mile 304.5 – 325.3

On the Appalachian trail, we managed to eat the same two or three dinners for almost six months. Ramen, pasta sides, and sometimes Mac and cheese.
We’ve been trying to get more creative lately. We discovered freeze dried beans on the Arizona trail and now sometimes make tacos, and we found that beans + a rice side go great with Fritos. Even for our simpler meals we try to add something. A chicken packet in the ramen, crackers in the Mac and cheese, gravy with the mashed potatoes.
Desserts, on the other hand, have remained as simple as possible. If it looks like a cookie, and has way too much saturated fat, we figure it’s good enough. Milano and generic Oreos are our favorites at the moment.
